Recall on Al Rasheed Sardine

Greenland Trading Corporation of Paterson, New Jersey is recalling AI Rasheed Sardine, due to the potential of contamination on select vacuum-sealed packages of sardines with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause a life-threatening illness or death. The New York State Department of Agriculture conducted samplings and found some packages to contain the bacterium.

Consumers are warned not to eat these products regardless of how it looks or smells. Consumers should return these products to the place of purchase. Look for packages with an expiration date of 3/2017.

Al Rasheed Sardines were shipped to seven states: California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. If consumers have any questions, they should contact the company directly at 973-225-0322.
