Trader Joe’s Recalls Raw Cashew Pieces

ucm482098Heritage International (USA) has voluntarily recalled lot # 07.17.2016TFA due to possible contamination with Salmonella. The recall only affects the specific lot, “BEST BEFORE 07.17.2016TF4”, that was distributed to Trader Joe’s Stores around the US.

No illnesses have been reported, but customers who have purchased the Raw Cashew Pieces are advised to not eat the product and to either dispose of it or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund. Trader Joe’s is asking customers to call their customer relations office if they have any questions at (626) 599-3817 6:00AM-6:00PM PST, Monday – Friday.

If you or your family have consumed this product, watch for symptoms like a fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pains. Although most healthy individuals are not at serious risk from a Salmonella infection, young children, elderly and individuals with a weakened immune system can become seriously ill. Call your health care provider if you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above.
